A rather eerie 4" x 6" casein on board concept sketch.  We have not been able to identify the publication it was meant for.  It may never have been used.
 
Lou often made small sketches like this one to show to art directors before committing to full size illustrations.  Sometime he would make two or three different versions for them to select from.  Occasionally, the project would be cancelled or the director would select another illustrator and the skertch would never be fleshed out.
